L'art de vivre
Sur l'art
« Je dois aux fleurs d'avoir été peintre. »
“I owe it to flowers that I became a painter.”
Art is the discipline of attention. A flower is never in a hurry — every petal arrives exactly where it should, in proportion, in season, in light.
I believe work should be made the same way. From the gardens of Giverny to a quiet interface, the rules do not change: lumière, rythme, retenue. Beauty is a form of respect for the one who looks at it.
“Beauty is not decoration.
It is the residue of care.”
Most software is built. Some software is composed. The difference is never one big decision — it is a thousand small ones: the easing of a transition, the rhythm of whitespace, the weight of a word.
That is the work I love. Not code or art — code as art, in service of people who use it.
